The Story
KuduTek is a solo-founded software company. I'm Jon Muller, and I build real products, bring them to market, and write about the experience.
I started this journey with a simple idea: what if I could turn problems I encounter into products that help others? No team. No funding. Just ideas, AI-assisted development, and a commitment to transparency.
My first product, XLNavigator, is an Excel add-in that solved a problem I faced daily—navigating through dozens of worksheets. Today, it's used by power users at companies like Amazon, Samsung, Chase, and Microsoft.
I'm building KuduTek in public, sharing everything I learn along the way—the wins, the failures, the technical decisions, and the business lessons.
The Philosophy
Build in Public. Share the journey—successes and failures. Write about what works and what doesn't. Help others learn from your experience.
Ship Real Products. Ideas are easy. Shipping is hard. Focus on building things people will actually pay for and use.
Stay Lean. Use AI and modern tools to move fast. Don't hire until you absolutely have to. Keep costs low and options open.
Solve Real Problems. Build tools you'd actually use yourself. If you're not the target customer, find someone who is and listen to them.

I use modern tools and AI assistance to move fast as a solo developer:
